Medical Student Clerkship

The San Francisco Orthopaedic Residency Program (SFORP) offers four-week clerkships for students currently attending school for a medical degree.

Opportunities to Learn

Additional opportunities include exposure to the private practice of The San Francisco Orthopaedic Surgeons Medical Group, Inc., which consists of the Program Director of SFORP, Dr. William A. McGann, a Total Joints Specialist; Dr. Dimitriy Kondrashov, Associate Director and Spine Specialist; Dr. William Montgomery and Dr. Joseph Haggerty both Sports Medicine Specialists; Dr. James Zucherman and Dr. Ken Hsu, Director and Assistant Director for the Spine Center. This private practice office is semi-attached to St. Mary’s Medical Center.

 

You will also have access to the Orthopaedic Clinic, located at the Sr. Mary Philippa Clinic Building. Here, you'll see scheduled clinic patients with a resident.

 

And finally, we always seek to improve our clerkship program. Therefore, as your clerkship ends, we request feedback via an evaluation form  describing your experience at SFORP. We strongly encourage feedback with recommendations on how we can make improvements to the clerkship program.
